A method that facilitates the work with the "web" without a paper base.

"Spider Web", a non-woven double-sided adhesive material for connecting fabric layers with an iron, happens on a paper basis and without it. This life hack is for working with a web in the form of a strip without a paper base. If a spider web is bought in a section and was stored unrepaired, it usually looks like this before work:

That is, the strip is uneven. If we need to lay this strip in a crease, then the "spider line" is easy to straighten and squeeze between the layers of fabric. She will level out. And when it is necessary to use a strip of material, for example, to fix a patch or application, this unevenness will not allow a piece of "spider web" to lie evenly and will interfere with work. This is easy to fix.

Life hack: neat applique on knitwear with embroidery paper

Step 1

For example, take a piece of cloth - say, we will need to use it as an application or patch.

We will prepare the part by ironing allowances on the wrong side.

Step 2

Cut off a piece of "cobweb" of the desired length and attach it to where we need to fix it.

Step 3

We warm up the iron and turn on the steam function. Now you need to hold the iron over the part and the “cobweb” so that the sole does not reach them by about 2-3 cm - and if the steam in your iron is powerful, then 4 cm. Orient in the process, starting from a greater distance.Be careful not to touch the cobweb iron. It is necessary that the fabric and the "cobweb" is affected by steam, and not the sole itself. You will see how the spider line spreads and adheres to the fabric from hot steam. At the same time, its upper layer will remain suitable for gluing to another layer of fabric. The connection is very strong and ductile.

To understand the principle, you can practice on an unnecessary shred.

After that, the patch or application part will be conveniently fixed with the iron in the right place - and sew on.
