A unique photo exhibition on the birth of fashion has opened in Moscow

Beautiful, spectacular, provocative, elegant, magical - at different times the concepts of beauty, elegance and sexuality were interpreted differently.

This is reflected in the design of clothes, and in the figures of women, and, of course, in photography. As part of the Moscow International Biennale of Fashion and Style in Photography 2015 "in Moscow, at the Multimedia Art Museum, a unique exhibition" How fashion is born "takes place.
More than 160 vintage prints, original magazines, the work of more than 80 creative photographers from Paris, New York, London and Milan - all of them represent a certain image, tell a story from the world of haute couture. At the exhibition you can get acquainted with such masters of artistic and documentary images as Edward Steichen, Horst P. Horst, Erwin Blumenfeld, Irwin Penn, Guy Bourdin, William Klein, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritz and others.
Fashion photos are part of the culture of a particular era, expressing style, aspirations and dreams, attitude to clothing and eroticism. Fashion photography is both a creative and commercial genre, and at the same time it is always experimental and piercingly artistic.
Theorist and filmmaker Guy Debord called fashion photography a "spectacle." Both in the past and in our time, when the work of photographers is limited by the strict framework of financial considerations, they find an opportunity to show their individual style.
