Using a removable skirt made of translucent decorative fabric, you can easily turn a casual dress into an elegant one, office dress for a corporate party, and a cocktail dress into an evening one.
It is not difficult to complete such a skirt, but you need to pay attention to the selection of fabric and decor.
The fabric can be selected light and transparent, for example, an air organza, flowing chiffon or a democratic mesh. And the decor can be anything: beads, rhinestones, voluminous flowers or feathers.
How to decorate a black dress
You will need:
- mesh (eurofatin) - 55 * 150 cm;
- the main fabric;
- adhesive doublerin;
- glass beads for decoration, hot glue rhinestones, chopped (cylindrical) beads or other decorative elements;
- buttons or hook for fastener;
- disappearing marker for fabric or chalk;
- a device for turning the corners (peg);
- threads, tailor pins, scissors, ruler.
Cutting out the details
Prepare cut details.
From the net: two parts of the skirt panels 52 * 75 cm or one part 52 * 150 cm.
From the main fabric:
- detail of the belt 9 * (waist circumference + 3 cm on the fastener + 2 cm allowance);
- 2 details of slats 8 * 63 cm;
- detail of the lower bar 24 * 150 cm.
Step 1
Run the back seam on the panels of the skirt (mesh parts). It is better to process the mesh with a French seam, leaving a small allowance and hiding it inside the seam.
Step 2
Prepare the bottom strap of the skirt: along one of the long sides, lay a stitch at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, stitch length ~ 3 mm. Press the sewing line to iron the seam allowance.
Also iron the bar along the middle.
Fold the panel of the skirt and the lower bar with the front sides, chop and grind. Iron allowance on the bar. The inside of the bar can be pinned temporarily.
Step 3
Prepare strips: duplicate with adhesive doubler, lay a stitch along one of the long sides at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, stitch length ~ 3 mm. Press the sewing line to iron the seam allowance. Iron strips in half lengthwise.
Fold the panel of the skirt and the bar with the front sides, chop and grind, both layers of the lower bar fall into the seam. Short sections of the plank protrude 1 cm below the panel of the skirt. Iron the allowance onto the plank. Similarly attach the second bar.
Step 4
Fill the bottom corners of the planks: unscrew the plank on the front side, lay a line across it at a distance of 1 cm from the bottom, cut out excess allowances and unscrew with a peg.
Step 5
Stitch the strips on the front side, fixing the inside of the strip, at a distance of 1-2 mm from the seam. Stitch length ~ 3 mm. Or hem the stitches manually from the wrong side with hidden stitches, grabbing the stitches previously sewn according to the seam allowance.

Step 6
Prepare the belt: duplicate using adhesive doubler, lay a stitch along one of the long sides at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, stitch length ~ 3 mm. Press the sewing line to iron the seam allowance. Iron the belt in half lengthwise.

Step 7
Connect the skirt and belt panels: fold with the front sides, chop and grind. Short sections of the belt protrude by 1 cm. Ironing allowance on the belt.
To process the ends of the belt: unscrew the belt on the front side, lay a line across it at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, cut out excess allowances and turn it off with a peg.
Hem the belt manually from the wrong side with hidden stitches, grabbing the stitches of previously sewn seam allowance.
Step 8
On the belt, install buttons or sew on hooks.

The skirt is almost ready.
Now you need to decorate it.I decided to embroider the lower bar with beads. For decor, I chose:
- glass beads of black and emerald colors and different sizes. I sewed large beads each individually with 3 stitches in two folds of thread. Small beads - sewn with a single thread in 2 stitches each.
- adhesive rhinestones of black color. Decor began with them. I distributed rhinestones along the plank of the skirt with the adhesive side down. She covered it with an iron and ironed it with a heated iron.
- chopped (cylindrical) beads of black color. I sewed it with a single thread.
I divided the bar into 4 parts and started with an even distribution of large beads (fewer). Further, evenly distributed medium beads between large. And then sewed small beads and beads. You can take a piece of paper equal to the size of one sector, and outline on it a plan for the arrangement of beads.
Step 10
Hem the hem manually from the wrong side with hidden stitches, grabbing the stitches of previously sewn seam allowance.
The skirt is ready!
