If you need a large round terry cover for the beach, it can be difficult to find the material of the desired width. Use towels, the main thing is to choose the right ones.

This project was born after a fruitless search for a round beach cover made from a well-absorbing terry cloth, large enough, but not at a sky-high price. As often happens, the best way to get what you want is to do it yourself. It was not possible to find terry cloth of the desired quality, color and texture, such a width as to cut a whole circle of the desired size out of it, and it was decided to use three towels.

Tip: towels may be different in texture, but it is better to choose the same in thickness and density. Then the bedspread will look good and lie evenly.

Picnic blankets: 10 ideas with instructions

Step 1

Lay out the towels, finding a combination and how you will connect them. The easiest way to connect is to use the treated sides of the towel, stitching them at right angles. Here the brightest towel takes half a circle, and the other two towels make up the second half.

Step 2

First, connect two towels for the lower semicircle. Put the edge of one on the edge of the other with an overlap of 1-1.5 cm and pin with pins.

Sew 2 parallel stitches while stitching towels. The first line is at a distance of 0.2 cm from the edge, the second is 0.5-0.6 cm from the first.

Step 3

Pin and sew the third towel on the same principle.

Step 4

Now you need to cut the circle. Find the center of your future bedspreads and fold the blank four times.

Using a long ruler, cut the workpiece as shown in the photo.

Step 5

Around the edge, pin a braid with an overlap of about 1 cm.

Stitch the braid in a zigzag pattern. Done.
