You can make a girl’s cute decor of any product without unnecessary costs and efforts - with the help of colored beads.
Having embroidered a fragment of the outfit with beads, you can diversify and refresh it, as well as give it the sound of ethnicity or glamor.
Beads can be decorated with the bottom of a dress or skirt, peplum, yoke, plastron or product belt. The choice of stone beads for this decor is huge: natural agate, corals, pearls, carnelian, mother of pearl and others.
You will need:
a finished piece of the product that you plan to decorate. Most often it is more convenient to sew beads on an already finished product.
Besides:
- suitable in size and color beads;
- disappearing marker for fabric or chalk;
- ruler;
- scissors;
- needle and thread in fabric color.
Feather and feathers: do-it-yourself fashionable clothing decor
Step 1
First you need to determine the location of each bead. You can arrange the beads in different ways depending on your idea: in lines, in a checkerboard pattern, emphasizing the fabric pattern, randomly and mixing them with beads of a different type.
I decided to arrange the beads in a checkerboard pattern.
Step 2
Now you need to mark the place of the beads on the fabric. This can be done in several ways depending on the fabric and its properties: in most cases, a disappearing marker or tailor's chalk is suitable, if the chalk is not visible on the fabric, you can mark the fabric with pins, inject them crosswise, or mark it with temporary stitches which are then easy to remove.
I simply marked out the desired fragment using the disappearing marker.
Step 3
Then we select a needle that freely passes into the hole of the beads. It is better to sew on beads with a thread in 2 additions. For reliability, the knot can be made larger, otherwise it can slip through the weave of the fabric and have to sew the bead again.
We sew all the beads according to the marking. Each bead is best sewn separately with three or four stitches and well fixed the end of the thread. With a little dexterity, sewing one bead takes one minute.
It looks the wrong side.
A little zeal, and the decor is ready.
Some tips
1. Such a decor will look good on products of laconic cut and from plain fabric. In some cases, beads can emphasize the print.
2. The fabric of the product should not be too delicate and thin. Well suited: suit and coat fabrics, velveteen, denim, jacquard, dense dress fabric, dense knitwear.
3. The fabric should not be very prone to creasing.
4. It is good if the detail to be decorated is double-layered or lined - the bead sewing stitches can be hidden between the layers.
5. It is better not to sew beads on the back of the product - they will cause discomfort when leaning on.
6. For the same reason, do not sew the beads on the sleeves below the elbow - they will knock on the table top or cause discomfort when leaning on the table.
7. With care, choose this decor for children's products. It is better to avoid it altogether, or use it for older children and "exit" products. Beads in this case should be sewn with special care.
8. It is possible to wash things decorated with beads: it is better to manually at room temperature (we are talking about beads made of stone).
9. You can iron on a soft towel (unless, of course, the beads are not plastic), laying the product with the beads down, at low temperature.
The presented method can be used to decorate the bottom of a skirt or dress, sleeves, pockets and flaps, lapels and lapels.
