A card holder, also called a cardholder, is a useful and convenient device for storing cards, travel cards and business cards. Even a beginner can handle this simple but functional model.

For such a cover, a dense cotton fabric is suitable. You can use the given sizes, they are designed for standard size cards. If you need to store more cards in a case, you can change the pattern by lengthening the base and making 1-2 additional pockets.

You will need:

- fabric of two types;

- one-sided adhesive non-woven;

- iron;

- scissors;

- pencil and ruler;

- pins;

- sewing machine and thread.

Step 1

Build patterns cover details. You can make paper patterns or trace the details directly on the ironed fabric.

You will need 2 rectangles from the main fabric measuring 23x16.5 cm and 2 rectangles from the fabric for pockets 18x13 cm in size.

Cut 4 pieces of non-woven fabric the same size as the fabric parts. Glue the non-woven back side to each of the 4 parts of the cover using an iron.

Step 3

Let's take care of the pockets first.Take one of the details of the pockets and fold in half with the front side inward, as shown in the photo. Sew on 3 sides, leaving on one side a stretch of about 5 cm for eversion. Turn your pocket out, straighten the corners well. Fill the edges of the non-sewn area with a pin. Repeat with a second pocket. You can also stitch the edge of the pocket with a fold - optional.

Step 4

Attach pockets to one of the main parts of the cover on the front side. The side of each part with a bend should face the center of the main part of the cover. Find the right place for the details of the pockets, align them and pin them with pins.

Step 5

Stitch pockets on 3 sides, leaving the middle sides free.

Cover the part with sewn pockets with the second main part of the cover, folding them face to face. Chip the parts with pins and sew along the perimeter, leaving a segment for turning out.
