Sewing a cover for an ironing board is quite simple: there are step-by-step workshops on making two types of covers, on an elastic band and on a cord.
With an old faded cover, the ironing board does not look very aesthetically pleasing. In addition, if the previous cover is non-removable and spots appear on it, they may appear on the fabric you are working with while ironing. Refreshing the cover is easy: choose which version of the removable cover is more convenient for you - on an elastic tape or an adjustable cord.

You will need:
- dense cotton fabric for cover (cut 30−40 cm more than the size of your board in length and width);
- slanting inlay (approximately equal to the length of your board);
- a thin strong cord about 20 cm longer than the board perimeter;
- a suitable limiter for the cord to the cord;
- sewing machine;
- threads;
- safety pin;
- scissors.
1. If you use a new fabric for a cover, it is better to wash, dry and iron it before work - so you will be sure that the cover will not change in shape or size after washing.
2. Fold the fabric on the work surface. Put your ironing board on top.Cut the fabric so that the part of the cover is 10 cm wider than the board on each side of it.

3. Trim the edges. Then treat them on a typewriter with an oblique trim. Tighten the joints of the oblique inlay and stitch as shown in the photo. It is necessary that you can pass a lace into the resulting drawstring.

4. Using a safety pin, thread the cord into the drawstring. Fix the ends with a stop.

5. All that remains is to put a new cover on the board and tighten the cord properly.

You will need:
- dense cotton fabric for cover (cut 30−40 cm more than the size of your board in length and width);
- elastic tape with a length approximately equal to the perimeter of your board;
- sewing machine;
- threads;
- scissors;
- safety pin.
1. Wash, dry and iron a new fabric for a cover before work. Lay the fabric upside down on the work surface, place your board on top and outline the cover detail, adding about 13 cm to each side of the board. Remove the board and cut the part.

2. Tuck the edges of the cover part so that the rubber can be pulled into the formed drawstring and sew on the machine. Leave a small area for gum to be unstitched.

3. Thread the elastic with a safety pin. Before trimming the edges of the elastic and stitching them together, try on a cover on your ironing board.The gum should hold the cover on the board firmly enough, while it should not interfere with removing and putting on the cover.

4. It remains to put on a new cover on the board.
