Pants with arrows, male or female, look elegant and strict, but to maintain the ideal look you will need some skill.
Photo: Asos, Stella McCartneyThere are two versions of the appearance of such an unusual element as arrows on trousers. According to the first, clearly romanticized legend, Edward VII, the Prince of Wales, fell into a thunderstorm and was extinct from head to toe on the way to a social event in 1896. Since in this form he could not appear for the holiday, the prince asked the local peasant woman to iron the soaked trousers. Instead of ironing along the front and back halves, the woman combined the side and step seams and ironed the trousers to glory! They say that the prince was so impressed with the ironed fold that he quickly brought him into fashion.
Another story says that in Europe at the end of the 19th century, during the rapid development of factory tailoring of ready-made clothes, a significant part of it went for export. At the same time, things were ruthlessly pressed and rammed to fit as much as possible into the holds. After such a harsh delivery, trousers remained rough and hard on the trousers, which were not easy to iron out ... but very soon this flaw turned into a dignity!

How to iron the arrows on the trousers?
Photo: TefalBefore proceeding to the arrows, you should iron the trousers themselves. To do this, you need to turn them inside out and iron first the belt and pockets, and then the legs. Do not forget that the temperature regime directly depends on the fabric from which the product is sewn. A mistake can be expensive and lead to las or even tan marks! If you still couldn’t avoid the trouble, we will show you how to get rid of the defects.
How to remove traces of the iron?
Next, go directly to the arrows. Turn the trousers to the front side and fold so that the side seams are aligned with the inside. Some prefer to secure future arrows with pins for reliability, but again it all depends on the type of fabric: in an inconspicuous area, make sure pins do not leave unsightly marks.
Then, through the wet iron, start ironing the arrows. It’s best to start with the knees, because it’s easier to make the arrow straight along its entire length. In order not to go astray, do not drive the iron, but iron it carefully, moving the iron from place to place.

How to make arrows more durable?
Photo: Embassy CleanersThere are a few tricks to help you make the arrows tighter.
1. Before starting work with the arrows on the wrong side, walk with a sharp bar of soap along the entire length of the future arrow, twice for each. Then stroke from the face as described above.
2. Moisten the iron with a solution of vinegar (1 tsp. In 0.5 l of water)
3.When ironing, use a sub-starch to process the arrows along the entire length
4. Another, quite exotic way, which is not suitable for all fabrics: from the wrong side, the arrow line is processed with paraffin, that is, with an ordinary candle. Paraffin after ironing sets well.
